First experience with Network Marketing ?
I was introduced to Network Marketing through other medical doctors during my second year in the united states. The company was "Quikstar".
I have attended many of their meetings , never understood the excitement during those meetings, "the hysteria" as I used to call it. I joined the company, never did really understand what I am joining. I never understood anything, never told anybody about it, was not really motivated, the timing was inappropriate. I could not see myself able to do it.
I got an idea though what Nework Marketing is about and what have stuck in my subconscious mind is that :
Network Marketing or Multi-level Marketing (MLM) is supposed to be :
1- Home based business
2- Low start-up cost (v/s Franchise such as McDonald's)
3- No financial risks
4- You get an income that keep coming even after you stop working!Cool.
5- The ideal business
I found quikstar marketing plan pretty funny, unrealistic to me. I found it very difficult to get a white board and make long presentation to foreign people in their houses again and again, I have never understood why should I pay to attend meetings I was invited to!
Our upline was pushing us all the time to buy and buy to reach what he called 100 points and I did not catch the idea how can I make money by buying stuff online!
What set me off completely is when I tried to rent a car using quikstar card to get a discount, and the employee tells me "it is more expensive to rent a car if you use this card!".
I am out of Quikstar.
